Internet Explorer 5 and 6 -- using Microsoft's Dial-up Networking

If you use Microsoft's Dial-up Networking to connect to the Internet, follow the instructions below.
1) From the Internet Explorer menu, select the Tools and Internet Options.
2) On the Connections tab, click on your Current default dial-up connection in the Dial-up settings section. You will see a dialog similar to the one shown below:


3) Click on the Settings button on the right side of the dialog. You will see a dialog similar to the one shown below.
4) Check the [x] Use a proxy server and the Bypass proxy server for local addresses options. Note that you will have different information in your dialog, and certain areas may be enabled or disabled. Click on the Advanced button in the Proxy server section. The following dialog will be displayed.


5) In the HTTP section enter Privacy Guard as the Proxy address to use and 8100 as the port number. Do not modify the Secure, FTP, Gopher, or Socks entries and do not select the Use the same proxy server for all protocols option. Click on the OK button to save your changes.


6) Under the Advanced tab, check both the Use HTTP 1.1 and HTTP 1.1 through proxy options.
